Internet is the most commonly used toll for networking. Nowadays Internet in everywhere in our social life, even in education and business purposes as well. So computers everywhere, the term computer security is used frequently, but the content of a computer is vulnerable to few risks unless the computer is connected to other computers on a network. As the use of computer networks, especially the Internet, has become pervasive, the concept of computer security has expanded to denote issues pertaining to the networked use of computers and their resources.
Large organizations are using large databases and it could cause privacy issues. Many organizations monitor employee e-mail and computer files using special software called snoopware. Another privacy issue can occur while we use Web and this is called the illusion of anonymity.
In addition, we need to be knowledgeable about personal privacy, organizational security, and ethics. Hackers and crackers are could be a good example.
As we see everywhere we can face some privacy, security, and ethics problems so it is shows that we people have to take some privacy protection systems. Security is concerned with keeping hardware, data, and programs safe. For example putting passwords and firewalls.
CAREERS IN IT
Cryptographers design encryption algorithms, break codes, and provide support to national security efforts. Salary range is from $60,000 to $100,000.
